Vinnies was born thanks to a young student who would walk through the poorer suburbs of his community on his way to university lectures each day.

The poverty he came across on his travels inspired him to be the change, make a difference and help who he could. Today, Vinnies works across Australia to continue this legacy…

Vinnies Youth are doing works all across the country to create a more just and compassionate society, from running kids days out and homework clubs, to soup vans, fundraising events, and social justice campaigns. Our grassroots, local groups meet regularly to create and run initiatives that meet the needs in local communities. Whether it’s a primary school, high school, university or community group, Vinnies groups (known as Conferences), are making change everywhere.

You can also volunteer at our shops or one of our Vinnies Services. We have family and domestic violence, health, homelessness and housing, disability and inclusion services serving the community in a range of ways.

Volunteers and Members are the heart and soul of Vinnies, and with over 10,000 vollies statewide, you’re sure to find some friends for life too!

“Let us do without hesitation whatever good lies at our hands”

NSW Vinnies Youth Representative, Maddie

Hey I’m Maddie, and I’m the State Youth Representative for Vinnies NSW!

I want to welcome you to our website where you can find everything you need to know about Vinnies Youth. We cover everyone from kindergarten to university who’s interested in joining in the great works of Vinnies to support those most vulnerable. I hope you enjoy taking a look around.

I have been involved with Vinnies since 2011, when I was in  Year 11 in high school. During this time I have had the privilege of participating in a variety of roles across the Society.

We have a diverse range of volunteering options to suit your needs from Food Vans to Buddies Days to School Vinnies groups. We’re excited to help you find your fit.
